Mission Statement of the Department of Outreach

The Department of Outreach will assist ABC District Missions, Congregations and related Organizations in the work of gathering more people into a faith relationship with their Saviour.

The Department of Outreach is currently divided into four Sub-Committees:

  1. Missions Committee: develops objectives, goals, and specific strategies for developing and strengthening Missions and congregations, and provides missional leadership, training workshops and program funding for Missions and some congregations.

  2. Evangelism Committee: provides evangelism resources and training for all the church workers and laity of the District so that God’s people are “always prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks them to give the reason for the hope that they have.” (1 Peter 3:15)

  3. Social Ministry Committee: advocates for social ministry issues by providing training, workshops and printed resources and working in cooperation with Listed Service Organizations like: Lutherans for Life – Canada and Canadian Lutheran World Relief and encourages congregations to be involved in social ministry efforts in their respective community.

  4. Missional Leadership Development Committee: organizes workshops that develop or nurture a missional mindset in church workers, lay leaders, and congregations and equips them to connect people to Jesus.
